Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering for, or using SiteStatus (the "Service," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

SiteStatus is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform providing automated uptime monitoring for websites and APIs. The Service uses distributed infrastructure (including regional workers on Microsoft Azure) to periodically check URLs provided by you, recording HTTP status codes, response times, and error messages.

SiteStatus is currently provided entirely free of charge.

3. Account Registration and Eligibility

  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service.
  • Authentication: You may register via email or third-party OAuth providers, including Google (including Google One Tap) and GitHub.
  • Account Security: You are strictly responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities, including sessions managed via your security dashboard.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use SiteStatus responsibly. You explicitly agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Monitor infrastructure or URLs that you do not own or have explicit authorization to test.
  • Abuse monitoring frequency or add excessive targets for a single resource to perform a Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attack or bypass rate limits.
  • Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to SiteStatus infrastructure, including our regional workers, API (DigitalOcean), or databases (Neon, Turso).

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights and title to the SiteStatus platform—including its software, monitoring logic, and branding—are the exclusive property of the developer. You retain all rights to the data (URLs) you input into the Service.

6. Service Availability and Modifications

While we strive for high reliability using enterprise-grade providers (Vercel, Azure, DigitalOcean), SiteStatus is a free service:

  • We do not guarantee 100% uptime for the monitoring infrastructure itself.
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. SITESTATUS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ALL DOWNTIME EVENTS WILL BE DETECTED.

8. Limitation of Liability

THIS IS A CRITICAL PROVISION: BECAUSE SITESTATUS IS OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, RESULTING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. THIS INCLUDES FAILURES TO DETECT OR REPORT DOWNTIME OF YOUR MONITORED RESOURCES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $0.00 USD.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SiteStatus and its administrator from any claims, losses, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms, particularly the Acceptable Use Policy.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. Any legal action arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Ukraine.

11. Changes to the Terms of Service

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
